April 2011

April is always a fun busy month. We have Easter and Abby's birthday. We dyed Easter eggs the week before Easter and made chocolates and then had our
our traditional Easter egg hunts at my mom's and at grandma grape's house. And of course the "business" portion of Easter where the kids empty their eggs that are filled with money and then have to give/receive more money depending on their egg colors. It's a great tradition game that grandma does and we will always do.

Grandma always makes sure the adult kids have to find an egg too. This year I wanted to do something special for Jared so I bought him a new wedding ring (since I lost his) and I hid it in his Easter egg. It was hidden in a pretty funny spot too, in Jeff's pocket (precious cargo, they didn't want to risk hiding it). Jared found it and I told him to open it in front of everyone and boy was he suprised to find a ring in it. He was pretty dumbfounded and confused and when I started laughing and told him it was for him, he was very happy!

Yay for dying eggs!

Adult cousins- not as cute as the kids (haha)

For Abby's birthday I planned an indoor carnival. We had lots of games, face painting, hot dogs and of course cotton candy. It was a ton of fun and a lot of work but I had lots of help and it turned out really fun.

February 2011-Month of LOVE!

For Valentines day, the girls and I went to build a bear and made Jared a cute cuddly bear that was dressed like a railroader and the girls recorded their voices to say "love you daddy". Then we went to the train yard and decorated his truck. It was a ton of fun and a cute surprise for him when he got home from work.

An exciting new outting we went on this month was ice fishing. It was my first experience and the girls too and it was a lot of fun. It was pretty cold and we had to walk far out on the lake but it was really neat. I'm glad Jared makes me try new things and gets me out of my comfort zone. We all snuggled up close in the ice tent and had a great adventure.

Christmas 2010

Christmas time is probably my most favorite holiday. The cold weather makes me want to snuggle with the family and be lazy. It's been so nice to be home this Christmas and not working, I feel less stressed and feel like I have time to truly enjoy my kids and home. A Christmas time tradition is that we go look at lights downtown with Terri and Mont and the family. This year it happened to be on my birthday and right before we went downtown, Jared suprised me with my present which was a new diamond ring (mine was stolen several years back). It is so beautiful. I can't believe I didn't take a pic of it when he gave it to me but I was too excited! The lights were of course beautiful and it was a lot of fun.

Christmas Eve we always spend with Grandma Grape and the family and this year she had the kids put on a little nativity for us. It was adorable. Christmas was wonderful and the girls were spoiled as usual by everyone. It was a wonderful holiday.
